IDEALLY COMBINING STUDIES, JOB AND CONTINUING EDUCATION – WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS?

Find out here about the technical tools and the educational media concepts behind the training programme. Thanks to our intuitively operated learning platform, you can work on your educational process anywhere and any time.

THE TEACHING CONCEPT:
BLENDED LEARNING

The theoretical study materials are covered using supervised self-learning phases. You will study online using our intuitively operated learning platform – which means you can easily work from home and whenever you want. During the self-learning phase, you will be guided by qualified tutors and lecturers. You can communicate with your fellow students and your lecturers in the regularly organised virtual classrooms.
The important practical skills are taught in intense face-to-face teaching sessions each year in the University Hospital Freiburg. This saves you unnecessary costs (travel costs, surgery downtime) but most of all it leaves you your valuable free time.
An educational concept perfectly tailored to your target group means that your learning efficiency is extremely high. You can benefit from the entire spectrum of educational media options because we offer a diverse range of teaching media. As well as simple PDF scripts, you also have access to e-lectures, surgery films, 3D animations and interactive, digital patient cases. This makes modern, part-time learning fun. Have a look at some demonstration versions of these media by way of example.

LEARNING
MANAGEMENT

You can access the media using the ILIAS learning platform system. This system is the key learning platform system at the University of Freiburg and is used by all our students. Since 2000 ILIAS has been used in many universities, academies and continuing education facilities in various countries. Many businesses and administrative organisations are also now using the platform for training and professional development. ILIAS has a very user friendly design, enabling users to very quickly and intuitively become familiar with the platform. In addition to the usual media access, ILIAS also includes communication and collaboration tools that provide optimal support for joint learning and exchange of information and ideas.

Twice a month our students meet their teletutors in a virtual environment – the virtual classroom. Course-related and organisational issues can be discussed, live seminars with renowned lecturers are held and our students can present their own patient cases to each other and discuss them.
We use Adobe Connect, software with a very user-friendly structure, that is used in many areas as conferencing software. The virtual room can be very easily accessed by a link in your browser and no additional software needs to be installed. All you need is a PC or laptop and a headset.

Are you interested in participating in one of the meetings as a guest? This also works without a headset. Write to our contact partner, Ms Milena Isailov:
